AEROWING

WHAT DO WE DO?

Aerowing is a Special Interest Group consisting of a coterie of aviation enthusiasts who bring the flying to Flying and Robotics Club. They work mainly on designing autonomous drones and rc planes with an aim to foster smart drones with an easy interface for users to interact with drones and to excogitate designs for rc planes.

The kernel behind this aim is walk with the pace of the drone technology that progresses at a rate to revolutionize the tech industry in the forthcoming period. Being an unique SIG of FARC, it humbly constitutes members from every discipline of engineering of which most are driven with an avidity of flying their custom-build dirigible. Designing and Simulating in softwares like Autocad, Fusion 360, MATLAB, Ansys, Catia and Solidworks are some skills that they excel at.

OUR PROJECTS

ORNITHOPTER

There has been an increasing interest in the development of MAV's (Micro-Air Vehicles) which are smaller than similar aircraft's, designed and produced by using state of the art technology. Among the various types of MAV's that have been developed over the years, the ornithopter is considered as one of most ingenious technology developed; a machine designed to achieve flight by flapping wings like a real bird. The idea of this project was to create an ornithopter from scratch, to control it remotely, and of course to make it fly.
