SOLIDWORKS KEP

WHAT WAS IT ALL ABOUT?

Knowledge exchange programs shortly known as KEPs are becoming a worldwide trend now. We at Aerowing, FARC believe in acquiring both theoretical and practical knowledge rather than just being a hobbies club. One such KEP was organised by our current Aerowing SIG head, K Eshwar Srinivas, on the design software Solidworks.

The world has long began shifting to a digitised era. Articulate models meeting the customer requirements can be easily modelled using user-friendly softwares. Solidworks is one such user-friendly CAD software.

After the initial efforts to build planes and drones, we realized that we needed to level up our designing skillset and therefore we needed to shift to a more systematic, efficient and design based paradigm for the entire process.

Through the KEP, the participants got an insight into the basics of Solidworks and had their own opportunities of recreating simple models through assignments, getting a grasp on the software. Knowledge is only going to broaden from here and with the expectation of further KEPs in the future.

Snipets of the event

The assignment given to the participant was divided into 3 sets, with the difficulty level going up a notch in each set. Nonetheless, the participants produced outstanding models and testified the knowledge they had acquired.
